Student Support and Development

Location: Glasgow G3 6RQ (hybrid working available)

Grade 5 31637- 36130 per annum pro rata

Permanent

Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (35 hours)

Applications are invited for a Student Welfare Advisor in Student Support and Development.

As Student Welfare Adviser you will make a positive contribution to the student experience at the Glasgow School of Art by delivering information guidance and active support on a comprehensive range of practical student welfare issues.

In this post you will act as a key contact for all students including our international cohort with responsibility for the provision of guidance and support with immigration and visa issues and supporting USA students through the US Federal loans process through to audit preparation.

Educated to degree level or equivalent or with experience congruent with degree level aptitudes including work-based learning the successful candidate will have an awareness of current student welfare issues such as student funding finances private rented accommodation safety health and wellbeing. The ability to manage a significant caseload based on priorities and deadlines is vital. The post holder must be able to work independently under their own initiative and to work well as part of a small and extremely busy team. Excellent organisational and communication skills and the ability to reflect on and evaluate complex and sensitive situations are essential.
