The expected starting base salary for this position is $121764 - $127853 annually depending on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience. Once hired you will progress through a wider salary range over time as you continue to develop job knowledge skills and competencies for the role.

Our office is closed for the 11 statutory holidays in B.C. as well as Easter Monday and Boxing Day.

What youll be doing

Reporting to the Chief Officer of Operations (COO) the Operations Integration Consultant (OIC) will provide strategic project and operational support to the COO. In collaboration with all Operations leaders the OIC integrates the strategic and operational plans across all program areas including Information Technology (IT) Information Management (IM) Finance Facilities and Office Services and Project Management and Business Analysis (PBA). The OIC will develop project coordination planning communication and process improvement strategies helping to align and clarify cross-departmental work and enhance overall effectiveness.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. In consultation with the COO and in collaboration with all Operations leaders the OIC develops strategic and operational plans and processes to support the key goals of the department. The OIC supports the COO and leaders to document plans and priorities across program teams and integrates these plans throughout the department.
  2. In collaboration with the COO assesses organization-wide impacts of system improvements process streamlining and cross-program functionality against the achievement of operational plans supporting the strategic directions of Assists COO with projects as needed.
  3. Provides research and coordination support for goal planning and workforce planning; works with leaders to identify industry benchmarks and capability maturity models; communicates with peer organizations and other organizations to bring forward alternative or innovative recommendations to forward Operations department plans and goals.
  4. Facilitates cross-program and project team understanding of strategic and operational priorities timing constraints and shifting
  5. In collaboration with Ops leaders identifies operational risks and risk mitigation strategies.
  6. Develops an operational framework to align program plans and priorities to track progress and to identify and mitigate risks; creates dashboard reports to monitor priorities; standardizes recurring processes where applicable.
  7. Assists in review documentation and development of operational policies and processes; ensures they align with organizational values are culturally safe and incorporate Indigenous specific requirements as needed; ensures timely reviews. Works with leaders to identify and address gaps in policy and processes. Ensures communication of policies across department and organization as appropriate.
  8. In consultation with the COO develops Operations presentation materials; in collaboration with leaders and department assistant plans schedules and leads quarterly departmental meetings; plans departmental retreats; sources presenters; maintains department processes and materials.
  9. Communicates key Operations department messages policies processes and changes across department programs and across college programs as appropriate; works with Communications and People to disseminate updates and changes.
  10. In collaboration with Department Assistant plans and coordinates department education related to regulatory functions and changes (i.e.) HPOA Indigenous Specific learning college updates. Supports planning for operational efficiency meetings (e.g. EOS).
  11. Demonstrates a commitment to ongoing learning related to Indigenous cultural safety and humility and supporting organizational actions towards addressing indigenous-specific racism in BCs health care system

Your education & skills

  • Masters Degree in strategy business administration or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and
  • Seven to ten years of progressively senior experience in health business or regulatory
  • Demonstrated experience in systems thinking system level change and organization-wide planning practices; ability to perform an analysis and translate to processes and systems.
  • Demonstrated use of project management skills to manage complex projects and/or
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the
  • Politically astute and culturally Able to deal with people and to represent the organization tactfully diplomatically and professionally at all times.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills. Experience influencing and negotiating at an organization-wide level.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with a demonstrated commitment to detail.
  • Ability to manage an independent complex workload while contributing effectively to the team.
  • Expertise in change management an asset.
  • Knowledge of Canadian colonial impacts on Indigenous people in social and health contexts including social economic political and historical realities impacting Indigenous communities and knowledge of Indigenous-specific anti-racism and accompanying reports (e.g. The Truth & Reconciliation Commissions 94 Calls to Action (2015) the In Plain Sight Report (2020) and Reclaiming Power and Places Calls for Justice (2019)) is an asset.
  • Demonstrated understanding of equity diversity inclusion and cultural humility as they apply to health care is an asset.
