Job Description

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Hospice

Location: New Albany MS
Job Type: Full-Time Hourly

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day by providing hands-on care education and emotional support to patients and families.

What Youll Do

  • Deliver direct nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) in accordance with the plan of care
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician
  • Monitor and report changes in the patients condition and ensure timely communication with the RN and interdisciplinary team
  • Provide education to patients and caregivers on self-care medications and symptom management
  • Assist with daily living activities to promote patient comfort and independence
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and timely reporting of patient care and progress
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings quality improvement initiatives and continuing education
  • Ensure safe respectful and compassionate care at all times

Qualifications

  • Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) in the state of employment
  • Graduate of an accredited Practical or Vocational Nursing program
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (hospice home health or related preferred)
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification
  • Valid drivers license auto insurance and reliable transportation
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Comfortable working independently and in rural or home settings
  • Demonstrates compassion empathy and a deep understanding of end-of-life care
  • Please note: Legacy Hospice is a drug-free workplace. Pre-employment drug screening is required including testing for marijuana.
