STARK COUNTY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE CENTER JOB DESCRIPTION - CERTIFIED

Title:State Support Team 9 Career-Technical Planning District Consultant

Supervisor: Director of SST9

Summary/Objective: The Career-Technical Planning District Consultant will promote equitable access to career-technical education for students with disabilities as well as assist school districts in the provision of special education and related services in the context of career-technical education. The Consultant will provide coaching professional learning and technical assistance to career-technical planning districts in SST region 9 (Holmes Wayne and Stark Counties).

Minimum Requirements:

  1. A masters degree in the area for which an employee has primary responsibility (i.e. education special education early childhood education education administration or appropriate related field or evidence of equivalency);
  2. Three to five years of successful classroom teaching instructional improvement planning and implementation special education administration career-technical administration or related experience; a license appropriate to the individuals profession (special education administration general education intervention specialist early learning (age 3 to grade 3) related services);

Duties: An overview of duties is provided below. Additional information will be provided by the SST9 Director.

The Career-Technical Planning District Consultant will:

  • Participate in Office for Exceptional Children Individuals with Disabilities Education Act selective reviews when it pertains to career-technical education/job training services for students with disabilities.
  • Serve as SST team member of support at District Leadership Teams Building Leadership Teams and Teacher-Based Teams when related to career-technical education services for students with disabilities.
  • Ensure alignment and consistency of the efforts within school improvement plans (e.g. One Plan Perkins Local Application.)
  • Collect and review career-technical center/program data to identify professional learning and technical assistance needs to increase the capacity of career-technical center personnel to provide special education services to students with disabilities.
  • Develop and facilitate professional learning and technical assistance on a self-review of the career-technical centers capacity to provide special education services to students with disabilities.
  • Refer educators parents and community agency representatives to appropriate State Support Team and Ohio Department of Education and Workforce staff when needed and/or requested.
  • Coordinate regional collaborative networks that address the needs of special education in career-technical education.
  • Work collaboratively with other SST consultants educational agencies community stakeholders and families to ensure students with disabilities participating in career-technical education have access to appropriate and effective instructional practices and frameworks.
  • Attend and inform State Support Team Regional Transition Council Meetings Statewide State Support Team Career-Technical Planning District Consultant Meetings and Office for Exceptional Children State Support Team Meetings as applicable.
  • Attend and inform approved conferences for professional development.



Additional Requirements:

  • Hold or complete a current Ohio BCI and Federal Background check free of disqualifying infractions
  • Comply with drug-free workplace rules and board policies
  • Participate (and pass where applicable) in all required training including but not

limited to: Bloodborne Pathogens Crisis Intervention Educator Ethics etc.

  • Embody high ethical standards integrity and accept responsibility for decisions

and conduct

  • Efficiently operate Google Applications including Gmail Drive Sheets Docs etc.
  • Adhere to the Stark County Educational Service Center (SCESC) Governing

Board policies/administrative guidelines/staff handbook policies of the assigned

district/worksite and the to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for

Educators

  • Promote the proper use care and security of SCESC property and report

misconduct vandalism equipment malfunctions and other concerns

  • Advance the professional image of the SCESC and affiliate districts
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with coworkers and colleagues

promoting a cohesive work environment

  • Report suspected child abuse and/or neglect to supervisor and/or civil authorities

as required by law

  • Maintain confidentiality of student related information
  • Such alternatives or additions to the above as deemed appropriate by the ESC

superintendent and/or the ODEW

Essential Functions:

  • Facilitate implementation of the scope of the work as outlined in the Grant

Agreement for Ohios State Support Teams with supervision of the SST9

Director

  • Maintain a positive and productive relationship with regional affiliated districts and

community partners including schools in Holmes Stark and Wayne Counties

  • Assist with planning development and implementation of grant programs
  • Attend state regional and local meetings conferences and trainings
  • Assist with the implementation of Stark County Board of Education policies and

administrative regulations; and compliance requirements of State/Federal

regulations

  • Perform other specific duties as assigned.
