Job Summary
This is a short-term position with an expected duration of 12-16 weeks with hospital option to extend or shorten based on clinical or other needs.Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in Massachusetts. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is required for newly licensed nurses.
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience is required.
Clinical GYN nursing experience over the last 3 years is strongly preferred.
Nursing experience in an ambulatory clinic/practice setting is strongly preferred.
Bilingual is preferred.
Other:
Membership in professional organizations is recommended and certification in a specialty area is preferred.
Able to work weekend rotation per the MNA contract.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
The RN must show evidence of the basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients. Must demonstrate observational skills and the ability to set priorities. Must be able to function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills. Must demonstrate effective skills in applying hospital standards in area of service teamwork communication respect for others and time/priority management.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Works in a variety of patient care environments where there may be exposure to communicablediseases and hazardous materials such as chemotherapeutic agents radioisotopes and radiation. Workentails walking and Pushing and Pulling Policy Statement (effective 3/7/2011): The Department of Nursing hasadopted the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)recommended maximumweight limit of 35 lbs. for lifting and a reasonably comparable standard for pushing and pulling as partof the physical requirements for this position.
