Description

SUMMARY: The Community Outreach Coordinator builds and strengthens relationships with businesses and community stakeholders to increase awareness of and engagement with HOT Goodwill mission programs donated goods retail stores and sustainability efforts. This position maintains a high-level knowledge of mission and retail operations to connect potential partners with relevant HOT Goodwill points of contact and assess engagement outcomes in their assigned region.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include but are not limited to the following as other duties may be assigned:

  1. Promote the general goals and objectives of the Heart of Texas Goodwill Industries (HOTGW) to all business and community stakeholders.
  2. Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with representatives of the community customers employees and public interest groups.
  3. Facilitate new partnerships for mission donation acquisition and retail.
  4. Maintain and update a Community Outreach toolkit with collateral and presentations for targeted stakeholder groups.
  5. Share HOTGW marketing collateral with business and community partners through various communication channels and in-person.
  6. Attend business and community events and meetings that align with Community Outreach priorities in assigned region.
  7. Identify potential external events for HOTGW to sponsor.
  8. Secure sponsorships for HOTGW fundraising events.
  9. Conduct presentations to educate stakeholders on HOT Goodwill.
  10. Convene Goodwill sponsored events and meetings.
  11. Assess stakeholder areas of interest and connect potential partners to the relevant internal Goodwill contact.
  12. Collaborate with internal HOTGW departments to track new partnerships for mission donation acquisition and retail.
  13. Maintain a database of Community Outreach contacts and current partnership levels.
  14. Collect and track key performance indicators for Community Outreach reports.
  15. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A drivers license check is required. Must show proof of current drivers license and minimum auto liability insurance coverage.

  • Ability to drive for the company: Valid TX Drivers License and Insurance

MINIMUM SKILLS:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective planning and project management.
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage events with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to work flexible hours evenings and weekends when necessary.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with diverse populations.
  • Ability to multi-task prioritize and thrive in fast-paced consistently changing environment.
  • Proficiency in completing assignments independently and on time

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Bachelors degree required. Preferred minimum of three years experience in the practice of communications and business partnerships. Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook etc.) or G-Suite expertise strongly preferred.

CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS:

Must maintain a valid drivers license and a driving record acceptable to Goodwills liability insurance provider.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The job requires regular sitting and using a computer.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to airborne particles (dust and lint). The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet to very noisy.
