UFG is currently seeking a Director FP&A who will report directly to the VP of Financial Planning & Analysis. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a high-impact collaborative finance team within the FP&A function.
The Director will be responsible for delivering timely insightful financial analysis and executive-level presentations supporting key decisions across business units functions and leadership teams. A key focus of the role includes managing the companys expense allocation standards and monitoring enterprise-wide spending.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the companys annual and long-term planning forecasting and enterprise-wide strategic financial analysis
- Oversee expense analysis and reporting to drive decision-making improve financial performance and ensure alignment with company-wide financial goals
- Develop clear actionable presentations and analysis on expenses
- Foster a culture of data driven decision making and financial discipline across the organization
- Deliver insightful recommendations on investment strategies cost management and business optimization
- Lead expense allocation efforts across business units functions and regions
- Simplify complex challenges into clear strategic guidance and next steps
- Promote continuous improvement and growth within the team by identifying and implementing enhancements to financial planning and expense management processes
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business partners helping teams define and achieve short- and long-term objectives
- Monitor peer benchmarks and key metrics related to business and expense performance
- Support process improvements in vendor management and AP to enhance accuracy and efficiency
Job Specifications:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or Business Analytics required; MBA preferred
Experience:
- 10 years of experience in financial analysis expense management or related fields with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Preference for experience in the Commercial insurance market
Knowledge skills & abilities:
- General knowledge of accounting/financial/operational principles
- Knowledge of both statutory and GAAP accounting principles preferred
- Experience leading finance transformation efforts including implementation of system solutions.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful expense management strategies.
- Ability to understand analyze and succinctly summarize financial results
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex financial information to diverse audiences
- Strong leadership and team management skills fostering collaboration and motivation.
- Excellent analytical strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Superior attention to detail with a strategic mindset
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities and assignments and deadline driven
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel Power Point Outlook and Word
- Proficient in financial modeling and analysis tools (e.g. Excel Power BI Alteryx Tableau)
