Bridge communication and help Hispanic families and schools to develop a strong relationship by providing timely information to families through oral interpretations and written translations. Use a high level of Spanish free of slangs anglicisms and while maintaining professional interpreter or translator conduct. This is a traveling position between schools in Eagle and Gypsum.
This position follows a 216-day calendar which loosely follows the school school year calendar providing days off on all breaks during the school year and a large portion of summer break.

ESSENTIAL JOB ELEMENTS:
- Accurately interpret information for special education meetings home visits parent teacher conferences school family nights and meetings.
- Translate edit revise and proofread other team members translations accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Serve as a cultural liaison for parents and schools.
- Manage a busy schedule arriving on time and prepared for meetings and appointments with families and/or staff.
- Assist parents with navigation of school programs including but not limited to: special education preschool Multilingual Education sports programs honors dual enrollment etc.
- Support other staff in the district with training on current translation and interpretation techniques etc.
- Provide interpretation for assessments in speech/language psychological and cognitive abilities for Special Education teachers.
- Administer Spanish Language Fluency Assessment for new bilingual staff.
- Maintain a current level Spanish language proficiency in reading and writing including common educational jargon correct grammar and technical vocabulary. Research terminology as needed.
- Collaborate with program directors school principals and teachers to provide timely trainings for families.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality in accordance with provisions of statute district regulations and interpreter/translator ethics.
- Maintain a high level of communication with supervisor counselors English Language Development teams and Special Education teams.
- Be organized and work independently.
- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent plus specialized technical courses.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- 1 year related experience.
- High proficiency in verbal and written Spanish and English as determined by District Assessment.
- Time management skills
- Computer skills
- Valid Colorado drivers license.
- Successful experience working with confidential information in an office setting.
