The role

Youll lead design for our Growth tribe working closely with the VP of Product. This tribe consists of six cross-functional squads and several supporting teams and sits at the heart of our mission and business strategy.

Youll own the design vision and strategy ensuring every flow feature and experiment delivers long-term value. Youll also guide and mentor the product designers in the tribe helping them refine their craft stay focused and deliver high-quality learner-centered solutions.

This is a leadership role without formal line managementbut with real influence. Youll shape team rituals drive design excellence and act as a key voice in how we build product at Preply.

What youll be doing:

• Make Preply the go-to platform for learners to connect with their right tutors and start a lasting learning journey.
• Partner with leadership to shape the Growths Tribe strategy ensuring a cohesive vision that guides and connects the work across squads.
• Design and elevate the learner journeyfrom discovery to subscription alongside product and engineering.
• Push creative boundaries through experiments and data-informed decisions.
• Contribute to and evolve our Design System to ensure a consistent and scalable experience.
• Mentor designers lead by example and help raise the bar for craft and collaboration across the team.

What you need to succeed:

• 8 years of professional Product Design experience with a strong track record in setting vision mentoring designers and driving cohesive strategy across teams.
• Proven success in building consumer-facing mobile-first products with frequent use patterns.
• Skilled at leading research and uncovering insights to guide smart user-centered decisions.
• Strong communicator- able to tell a clear story align stakeholders and advocate for design with confidence and openness.
• Experienced in partnering closely with engineers to ensure quality from handoff to launch.
• A collaborative mindset- you share early give and receive feedback well and help raise the bar for the whole team. You leave the ego at the door.
