Radius Rule: Only accepts traveler profile applications from travelers who live at least 50 miles away from the facility address where they are working.
Float Requirement: Travel may be required to provide services to various sites.
Facility Salary: $87000.00 to $110000.00

The Sonographer must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patients needs and to provide the care needed as described in the units/area/departments policies and procedures.

- Newborn - Birth through 1 Month
- Infant - 1 Month through 5 years
- School Age - 6 years through 12 years
- Adolescent/Teenager - 13 years through 17 years

- Mature Adult - 51 years through 69 years

- Is responsible for detecting observing and reporting compliance variances to their immediate supervisor or upward through the chain of command the Compliance Officer or the hospital hotline.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Must provide a Sonographic examination of all body parts for diagnostic interpretation.
- Must exercise professional judgement in the performance of procedures applying principles of radiation protection.
- Performs diagnostic medical sonography within the department and other areas.
- Maintains patient records and files.
- Assumes responsibility for the departmental quality assurance program.
- Pursues continuing education.
- Transfers patients to and from imaging.
- In the absence of a supervisor you can assume responsibility for the department.
- Rotates shifts as required.
- Performs ancillary duties as requested by the supervisor.
- Follows policies and procedures as set up by the Administration.
- Assists in the general hygiene of the department and self.
- Should be able to work well in situations of stress.
- Must be willing to learn other imaging modalities as the Manager sees fit.
- Must be able to perform duties in two fields of ultrasound (General and vascular or Cardiac)
- Able and willing to perform other duties as assigned.
ULTRASOUND
- Perform all requested exams for diagnostic interpretation by a radiologist.
- Continue to seek a higher level of education with RDMS certification (Abd OB/GYN RVT RDCS).
- Pursue continuing education to fulfill radiology and/or RDMS requirements.
- Responsible for the care of transducers.
- Responsible for the neatness of the work area.
- Responsible for the paperwork that accompanies the procedure
- Assistance with invasive ultrasound procedures.
- Participate in the preparation of policy and procedure in this area.
- Consult with referring physicians.
- Care of Trophon station.
- Assists with all efforts to obtain accreditations.
- Actively pursues education in a changing field.
- Attends department/organizational meetings in-services and disaster drills
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION
Experience:
- Must have at least 1 year of Ultrasound experience
- Echocardiography is a plus.
Education:
- Must have an Associate degree with certification in diagnostic sonography.
- Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound program is preferred
Licenses Certifications and/or Registration:
- Must have Current ARDMS in one category
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
EMR System: Meditech experience preferred
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Able to perform all diagnostic exams as related to assigned modality.
- Tech I ARDMS in one modality (ABD OB/GYN RVT RDCS)
- Tech II ARDMS certified in two modalities/ARDMS categories (ABD OB/GYN RVT RDCS)
- Tech III ARDMS categories in three modalities (ABD OB/GYN RVT RDCS)
- Tech IV ARDMS categories (ABD OB/GYN RVT RDCS)
