Job Description
- Shall provide full range of Obstetrical and newborn infant care to patients admitted to Obstetric Care Unit (OCU).
- Knowledge of the nursing process and its application to clinical practice in order to provide individualized goal- oriented nursing care to the laboring postpartum antepartum and newborn patients.
- Knowledge of scientific and psychosocial nursing theory principles spiritual and social-cultural needs of the Indian patient.
- Knowledge of biological aspects of disease processes and illness relating to Obstetrical and newborn infants and is able to recognize complications and implement appropriate nursing/therapeutic intervention required.
- Shall cross train to Womens Health Clinic (WHC) when short staffed.
- Shall make patient unit assignments specifically deciding assignment to postpartum newborn labor & delivery units. Contractor shall ensure narcotic inventory daily checks and logs are completed in a timely manner.
