Job Description
Job Title: APIGEE Developer
Location: Remote (CST Time)
6-12 Months Contract
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Apigee Developer to join our integration team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in API Gateway management using Google Apigee including designing developing deploying and securing APIs. This is a remote contract role with a focus on delivering scalable and secure API solutions for enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop APIs using Google Apigee Edge / Apigee X
- Implement API proxies policies security (OAuth2 API key JWT) and traffic management
- Create API specifications using Swagger/OpenAPI
- Collaborate with backend developers architects and stakeholders to design integration solutions
- Monitor and troubleshoot API performance latency and errors
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for API deployment
- Apply API versioning throttling caching and analytics
- Ensure APIs are aligned with RESTful standards and enterprise guidelines
- Maintain API documentation and support onboarding of API consumers
Must-Have Skills:
- Must have 9-12 Years of overall IT Experience.
- 5-7 years of hands-on experience with Apigee (Edge or Apigee X)
- Strong understanding of API management concepts and best practices
- Proficiency in JavaScript or Python for custom scripts
- Experience with OAuth2 JWT SAML and API security
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs JSON and XML
- Experience integrating APIs with backend systems (HTTP/SOAP databases cloud functions etc.)
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins Git and Maven
- Good understanding of DevOps and monitoring tools (e.g. Apigee Analytics Splunk)
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services
- Exposure to Kong AWS API Gateway or other API tools
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
