Location: Pittsburg PA (3-4 days from Office).
Responsibilities
We are looking for a highly skilled Technical Product Owner with 5-years of experience in the payments industry to support our product management team. Experience with benefit disbursement products such as 401(k) Social Security and pension payments is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Product Managers by gathering documenting and refining business requirements.
- Translate business needs into detailed technical specifications and user stories for engineering teams.
- Write and maintain requirements for operational and client-facing reports ensuring accuracy and usability.
- Assist in backlog grooming sprint planning and QA processes by ensuring requirements are complete and testable.
- Analyze and document workflows related to benefit disbursements including ACH check and wire payments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering compliance operations) to ensure alignment on delivery goals.
- Support issue resolution by clarifying requirements and expected outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in the payments industry with a strong understanding of transaction processing and disbursement workflows.
- Proven ability to write clear concise and technically sound requirements including for reporting and analytics.
- Experience supporting benefit disbursement products (e.g. retirement plans pensions Social Security).
- Familiarity with tax reporting and compliance requirements (e.g. 1099s withholding).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in financial services fintech or government benefit programs
- Familiarity with tools like Jira Confluence and Agile methodologies.
- Understanding of systemic controls and dual-authorization processes in payment systems
