Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Tucson AZ
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to lead a team of 5 7 machine maintenance and repair professionals. This role combines hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities focusing on ensuring the optimal performance of sophisticated manufacturing equipment. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement efforts manage daily equipment maintenance and collaborate closely with senior leadership to enhance production capabilities and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead mentor and supervise a team of machine maintenance and repair technicians.
Ensure all machinery is properly maintained and operating at peak performance.
Assess project requirements and evaluate the performance of mechanical components devices and systems.
Identify and implement process improvements to increase equipment productivity reliability and safety.
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions and inefficiencies.
Collaborate with leadership on production improvements resource allocation and long-term operational strategy.
Guide the evaluation selection and integration of new machinery and technologies.
Maintain compliance with all personnel product and food safety regulations.
Foster a culture of accountability collaboration and excellence across the maintenance team.
Establish relationships with OEMs suppliers and vendors to support equipment upgrades and parts sourcing.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Proven leadership experience in a hands-on machine maintenance or production setting.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems diagnostics and maintenance practices.
Experience in industries such as printing converting or packaging preferred.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects from concept to completion.
Strong communication problem-solving and organizational skills.
High level of initiative and ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
