Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and experienced X-Ray Tech to join their Diagnostic Radiology unit at SMMC. This is a 13-week assignment with variable 10-hour shifts scheduled via a seniority-based self-scheduling model. Candidates must be open to all shift start times weekend work and occasional float to meet unit needs.
Perform a wide range of general and specialized diagnostic radiographic procedures
Operate portable X-ray and C-arm machines for bedside OR and emergency exams
Prepare and position patients accurately and safely for exams ensuring image quality
Assist with contrast media preparation and administration
Document procedures and maintain imaging records in PACS
Provide services across inpatient outpatient ER ICU NICU and OR settings
Maintain compliance with infection control safety and departmental policies
Support continuity of care by effectively communicating with care teams
Must have 2 years of recent X-Ray Tech experience
Comfortable with 30 35 scans per shift in a fast-paced environment
Must be open to all variable shifts (self-scheduled by seniority)
No call required but weekend coverage every other weekend is expected
Must be willing to float within department to meet patient care needs
Local candidates (within 50 miles) accepted at adjusted rate confirm with AM
Pending license not accepted
First-time travelers accepted
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in acute care or hospital setting
License & Certifications:
ARRT (R) Certification
BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
California Radiologic Technologist License Active
Fluoroscopy Permit (preferred)
Skills:
Core Exams: Abdomen (supine upright decubitus) Chest Skull Orbits
Extremities: Upper (shoulder clavicle scapula arm wrist) Lower (femur knee tib-fib ankle)
Spine & Pelvis: Cervical Thoracic Lumbar Pelvis
Fluoroscopy Studies: Upper GI Barium Swallow Enema (single/air contrast)
Equipment Experience: GE systems (preferred) PACS
Work Environments: ER ICU OR NICU Adult Acute Care Bedside/Portable
Additional: Contrast prep musculoskeletal imaging
