Job Description
Primary responsibilities
- Design build and rollout our global DWDM networks;
- Drive scaling designs to meet the demand of our customers;
- Create processes that help operate and build our optical network;
- Work closely with other Networking teams;
- Evaluate new products and drive commercial tender process;
- Ensure that the optical network adheres to the defined network standards;
- Review and implement changes on the optical systems;
- Drive operational excellence projects to drive improvements in our DWDM network quality and reliability;
- Troubleshoot complex problems and develop innovative solutions day to day on our network.
Candidate Requirements
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in a technology related field or equivalent experience to a Bachelors degree
- Minimum of 7 years industry experience
- Experience with optical planning modelling tools and rollout of large DWDM networks
- Expertise IP networking fundamentals and IP protocols
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with major DWDM platforms (Ciena Infinera and Cisco)
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with major router platforms (Cisco and Juniper) including compatible supervisory and line cards for these platforms
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with major internet routing protocols; specifically BGP and OSPF
- Excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills
- Candidates should also have had significant past experience with and expertise in many of the following protocols & technologies: DWDM T1/DS1 DS3 SONET (OC3 OC48) 802.2/3 802.1d VLANs/STP IPv4 & IPv6 TCP (internals & flow control) BGP OSPF HSRP/GLBP PIMv2 IGMP LDP TACACS IPSEC & VPNs netflow DNS HTTP
