We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Group Financial Reporting Accountant to join our close-knit financial reporting team. This is a key role within Group Finance responsible for the preparation and delivery of the Groups consolidated external financial statements from the underlying consolidation system data; supporting the monthly and quarterly close processes; and engaging in various strategic and ad-hoc finance projects.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and timely external reporting and will gain comprehensive exposure to the end-to-end reporting process of a listed Group. There will also be opportunities to rotate roles within the team allowing you to experience other areas of the financial reporting process as part of a managed development plan designed to support your career progression. KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the Senior Manager in the following areas:
Financial Close & Reporting:
- Own the preparation of the Groups externally reported consolidated financial statements using data from the consolidation system.
- Draft key financial disclosures for inclusion in the Groups interim and full-year reports.
- Perform Group-level calculations including EPS and Goodwill impairment tests applying cashflow models
Support for Audits:
- Providing necessary documentation and support to our auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. Addressing any audit-related queries and following up as required.
Operating Markets:
- Supporting the monthly quarterly and year-end financial close processes for smaller operating markets including analytical reviews of the reported information
SOX Controls & Compliance:
- Ensure the completion of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls for smaller operating entities identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with IHS policies and regulatory requirements.
Other responsibilities: Collaboration & Ad-hoc Projects:
- Work closely with the FR&C team and Senior Leadership on key group reporting activities and support on ad-hoc projects including M&A debt issuances and other projects or initiatives
Experience:
- The ideal candidate will be Big 4 trained
- Newly qualified with audit and accounts preparation/review experience. Eligible candidates should have a hands-on approach and larger client exposure.
- Listed company experience preferred
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of IFRS and consolidation accounting principles.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel (including functions pivot tables and data analysis) and Word used regularly for financial reporting and documentation.
- Experience in using Toppan Merrill or Workiva reporting tool and OneStream or other consolidation tool (e.g. HFM) is an advantage
- Understanding of the application of internal controls (SOX and similar)
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Naturally inquisitive with strong analytical skills and effective in solving problems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across different levels and geographies.

- Chartered Accountant from a recognized body (ACAACCA or international equivalent)
