Job Description

Position: Port Service Field Engineer Savannah Georgia

Duties: Perform installations erections commissioning maintenance and inspections on Rubber Tired Gantry (RTGs) Ship to Shore (STS) Rail Mounted Gantry (RMG) Automated Stacking Cranes (ASC) Straddle Carriers Munck Loader Goliath Gantry Level Luffing cranes at customer locations. Ability to lead a site team during crane erections and commissioning including thorough customer communication. Conduct extensive on site electrical electronic and mechanical troubleshooting and establish the necessary repairs appropriate test equipment to include: Hydraulic system troubleshooting; Electronic diagnosis PLCs from various manufacturers (Siemens TMIEC ABB etc.); Diesel engine generator diagnosis (Cummins Volvo Mercedes Scania etc.); GPS location tracking and automation systems; Variable Frequency Drive diagnosis to the component level; and Motor and Gearcase alignment. Perform on site repairs on customers cranes in conjunction with planned repairs as part of customers maintenance contract. Responsible for a basic understanding and working knowledge or all OSHA ANSI CMAA and other codes or regulations pertaining to Port and Shipyard industry. Responsible for generating sales and service leads during service calls and identifying the proper Konecranes personnel of the customers need and level of interest. Travel up to 75% for projects for multiple weeks at a time domestically and internationally.

Requirements: Associates degree in Industrial/ Electrical/ Mechanical Technology or related field or work experience equivalent to degree as determined by credentials evaluator. 2 years of experience in electrical and electronic troubleshooting and repair. Knowledge of Siemens PLC and VFDs. Good mechanical aptitude. Willing and able to work off the ground. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
