Job Summary:
The Machine Operator Molding is responsible for setting up operating and monitoring molding machines to manufacture quality molded products according to specifications and production schedules. This role requires attention to detail adherence to safety and quality standards and the ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up molding machines and auxiliary equipment per work instructions and production requirements.
Load raw materials or components into machines and verify material type and quantity.
Monitor machine operations ensuring proper machine parameters and cycle times.
Inspect molded parts for defects such as surface imperfections dimensional inaccuracies or contamination.
Use measuring tools (e.g. calipers gauges) to confirm product specifications and document inspection results.
Record production data accurately including quantities produced scrap and process adjustments.
Perform minor maintenance cleaning and adjustments to ensure machines operate efficiently.
Follow all safety procedures including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Assist with mold changes and machine setups as directed.
Report equipment malfunctions material shortages or quality concerns to the supervisor promptly.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience operating molding machines preferred (injection compression or blow molding).
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and mechanical equipment.
Ability to read and interpret work orders safety instructions and basic blueprints.
Familiarity with inspection tools and quality standards.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
Ability to stand bend and lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift.
Willingness to work in a production environment with moderate noise and heat.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing floor with exposure to machinery moving parts and materials.
Use of PPE required including safety glasses gloves and protective footwear.
Frequent standing and repetitive movements.
