The opportunity
Join us at Hitachi Energy as a Senior Control & Protection Software Design Engineer and be part of a team dedicated to revolutionizing energy transmission with HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) technology.
In this role as a Control & Protection Software Design Engineer you will be a part of a department which is responsible for automation systems and digital real-time control of the plants and transmissions. The need for this expertise is increasing and we are therefore looking for both freshly a senior engineer to join our team.

Please note this position if of a hybrid nature (2/3 days working out of our central Glasgow office). Please also note we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.

How youll make an impact
- You will be part of all phases of delivery which includes design maintenance testing integration verification and deployment of the HVDC control & protection application functions needed for safe and reliable operations of plants and transmission links.

- Document processes and conduct customer training.
- Travel internationally for assignments.
Your background
- Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant technical area.
- Experience with HVDC projects and control system design/testing.
- Strong interest in industrial application development and programming.
- Fluency in English both written and spoken.
- Experience in digital technology signal processing control system design and power system industry.
