Job Description

Position Description:

We are Canadas largest independent information technology services firm and after 45 years were still growing! Join Canadas largest IT Company as an Assembler/COBOL Developer in our Financial Services Sector in Toronto.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Creating designing coding debugging testing and implementing applications using both Assembler and COBOL.
Understanding the logic and structure of existing applications to identify areas for improvement or to create new ones.
Investigating and resolving issues related to application functionality and performance.
Adhering to established coding standards documentation procedures and system maintenance practices.
Often involves working with mainframe environments using languages like JCL (Job Control Language) and potentially PL/I.
Developing necessary documentation and plans for application deployment and updates.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

8 years of experience in mainframe development using Cobol JCL IMS DB/DC DB2 Netron VSAM CICS CA7 SAS SDSF.
Experience with Security and environment control systems (Endevor ACF2) Problem Analysis (Fault Analyzer) Database Management (e.g. IMS DB2 VSAM)
Experience in Utilities and productivity tools (e.g. MVS/TSO ACR COMPAREX SYNCSORT IDCAMS CRF File Manager and etc.) an asset
Experience working in an agile environment and SDLC methodology
Understanding of File Transfer protocols and processes ie. FTP SFTP PGP Encryption
Strong knowledge of DB2 database z/OS Debugger DFSORT JCL and COBOL
Understanding mainframe integration for ETL processing
Assembler Experience required.
