Purpose
- Transporting special needs students over scheduled routes and/or to/from special excursions
- Ensuring vehicle is in safe operating condition
- Ensuring safety of students during transport loading and unloading from buses
Responsibilities
- Advises students and other passengers of appropriate behavior
- Assesses incidents complaints accidents and/or potential emergency situations
- Assists Bus Assistant students and other passengers
- Attends meetings trainings etc.
- Cleans assigned vehicles both interior and exterior
- Conducts emergency evacuation drills
- Drives school bus/s
- Fuels assigned vehicle (e.g. oil water fuel etc.)
- Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections (e.g. fluid levels tire pressure exterior condition etc.)
- Prepares documents and reports (e.g. field trip reports incident reports inspection records passenger misconduct mileage logs student counts MIPS forms etc.)
- Reports observations and/or incidents (e.g. discipline accidents inappropriate social behavior health etc.)
- Responds to inquires (e.g. students parents other school personnel etc.)
- Supervises students and other passengers during transit
- Assists other personnel as may be required
Experience is desired. Full time with Benefits - 25-40 hrs. per week. $19.40 per hour - depending on experience; w/Certificate. The District trains new bus drivers.
Qualifications - Alcohol and Drug Test Pre-placement Physical Exam Criminal Justice fingerprint/background clearance Random drug testing.
This is a 10 month School Year position only.
