Job Description
Enfield Public Schools is seeking a compassionate and skilled School Nurse (RN or LPN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting the health and well-being of students ensuring they are ready to learn and succeed in a safe and supportive environment. The position may be filled by either a Registered Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse depending on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to students including first aid medication administration and management of chronic health conditions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized health care plans.
- Conduct health screenings and assessments to identify and address health issues that may impact learning.
- Collaborate with teachers parents and healthcare providers to support students health and educational needs.
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation in accordance with state and district policies.
- Promote health education and wellness initiatives within the school community.
- Respond to health emergencies and provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal health regulations and guidelines.
Qualifications
For RN Candidates:
- Bachelors or Associates degree in Nursing.
- Valid Connecticut RN license.
- Certification in School Nursing preferred.
For LPN Candidates:
- Valid Connecticut LPN license.
- Experience in pediatric or school health settings preferred.
- Must work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or School Medical Advisor.
For All Candidates:
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Experience working with children or adolescents in a healthcare or educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric and public health practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse school community.
