The Pratt & Whitney organization has a unique opportunity for a position in our Materials SFC team in Asheville NC. The Shop Floor Control position requires working closely with their manufacturing business unit team to meet enterprise goals and objectives as well as participating in continuous improvement activities that move the organization forward. This position will have detailed oversight of the operations and responsibilities including execution of schedule material movement and systems. It will lead and handle value stream transformation initiatives regarding strategic materials management architecture and implementation of lean strategies to establish a world-class materials team. SFC will be working directly with cell leaders administration materials operations and as well as the internal manufacturing groups to assist in redefining processes execution on business requirements and delivery to customer expectations. SFC will provide leadership and direction with emphasis on demand change management. A successful person will excel at forward thinking and ensure that Asheville is transforming to meet the customer demands of a difficult manufacturing environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Attend necessary daily tier meetings & pitch walks.
  • Scheduling and Scheduling Stability.
  • Material release to production area.
  • Track production needed by intercompany.
  • Execute process and oversee activities through multiple cells.
  • Establish standards and expectations for work effort and performance.
  • Give constant feedback on performance to those standards.
  • Implement lean manufacturing measures to ensure value streams and shop operations are always stabilized and/or to be able to identify areas of opportunity quickly.
  • Preparation of commits based on machining OEE and value stream constraints.
  • Communicate effectively with internal organizations to ensure the business is meeting customer demand and/or commits.
  • Help establish system architecture designs that consider customer requirements resource availability capacity level loading constraint management and other priorities.
  • Work close with warehouse personnel to ensure cell has everything needed to be successful.
  • Inventory management (accuracy Aged WIP holds pending QNs).
  • Participate in making allocation/priority decisions on critical hardware.
  • Help create and manage reporting systems.
  • Utilize/operate Andon system in support of assembly floor requirements.
  • Help manage engineering changes on the shop floor.
  • Support efforts to drive cost & lead time reductions.
  • Assist Planners when needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience and 5 years of prior production/manufacturing materials or an advanced degree in a related field and 3 years experience.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Proficiency in the Materials discipline.
  • Experience utilizing SAP operating system.
  • Computer skills- Proficient Microsoft Office.
  • Creative troubleshooting analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated excellent organization skills and be able to work independently with the value stream teams.
  • Effective written and verbal communicator and be able to interact at all levels of an organization.
  • Exhibit a proficiency in business decision making customer relationship maintenance and adaptability.
  • Possess excellent leadership judgment and professional maturity and must be team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong desire to succeed and pursue personal growth and developmental opportunities.
  • Success working in a high energy and fast paced manufacturing environment with the ability to adapt to changing business conditions.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE).

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles commuting to and from the assigned site is the employees personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 82000 USD - 164000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to individual performance business unit performance and/or the companys performance.
