Job Description

Adult Family Home (AFH) Lead Caregiver

SUMMARY: Lead Caregivers provide Caregivers with assistance in performing their job duties by training and coaching developing and maintaining relationships and evaluating performance. Lead Caregivers are responsible for ensuring programming is being
implemented at all times by Caregivers. Lead Caregivers will perform all job duties of the Caregivers in addition to their regular job duties.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to lead a diverse group of employees give feedback and guidance and make decisions.
  • Ability to take on responsibilities and assist in problem-solving for staff and clients supervised.

REPORTS TO: AFH Program Director

JOB DUTIES:

  • Complete the job duties of a Caregiver when assigned to work with clients.
  • Assign staff to clients on the client assignment schedule and post at least 15 minutes prior to the start of shift.
  • Prepare for the start of the shift by setting up clients individual schedules.
  • At the end of each shift check the Caregivers data collection by reviewing client binders to ensure data is accurately completed before the Caregiver leaves for the shift.
  • Train and ensure all Caregivers are using and following clients individual schedules.
  • Train new Caregivers on Chiledas policies and procedures as outlined in the training manual.
