You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailBoston Universitys Ryan Center Physical Therapy Clinic (BUPTC) is looking for a qualified Physical Therapist - Fellow. The Boston University Physical Therapy Center is an outpatient primarily orthopedic practice. This clinic is housed within the DPT program of Boston University and as such was founded with a guiding vision of delivering care in line with the teachings of the program and being a practice to educate our students within.
The primary responsibilities for the position Physical Therapist-Fellow are that of patient care and completion of requirements of the Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship Program. Patient care must align with the practice patterns taught within the DPT program and in so are both guideline adherent and aligned with current best practice. Care will be delivered and billed along legal and ethical guidelines of billing practices in our profession. Patient care will incorporate elements of systematic outcome collection that is part of daily practice at BUPTC. This will include adherence to standards set for consistent collection of patients reported outcomes. Physical therapist - Fellows will also aim for successful meeting of targeted productivity requirements. Physical therapist- Fellows do not have direct reports however will direct the work of clinic aides to assist in patient care and clinic operations. Physical therapist - Fellows will also collaborate with front office and billing staff for the successful organization of capacity to bill and collect on patient care delivered. Alongside patient care will include participation in educational endeavors that the candidates experience will allow for. This may include serving as a clinical instructor for part-time and full-time clinical rotations of DPT students.
The educational mission of the Boston University Fellowship in Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy is to educate and develop expert practitioners in orthopaedic manual therapy. Expert practitioners will assume leadership roles in advancing the physical therapy profession by contributing to the scientific body of knowledge in the field providing current evidence-based clinical care and participating in the education of students and colleagues.
This position is term-limited to 12 months from the time of employment. This 12-month time period represents the time in the Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship Program here at BUPTC. Successful employment for this duration requires individuals to meet both the goals and policies and procedures of both the Fellowship and BUPTC. This includes successful mentoring received skill training hours written assessments live patient assessments capstone project and accumulation of required didactic hours and coursework. Acceptance of this position will also include a signed acceptance letter to the BU Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship Program which will be sent by the fellowship director.
