About the Position

  • Develops information needs for process evaluations and project scoping. Works with client to collect required information as needed.
  • Creates new or updates to Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Develops material and energy balances
  • Contribute to sizing and specification of process equipment and instrumentation such as control valves PSVs etc.
  • Process Hazard Analysis (HAZOP) experience desired with facilitation experience a plus
  • Performs process simulations hydraulic calculations and pipe sizing.

Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with process engineering software (i.e. Aspen Plus HYSYS PRO/II UniSim ProSim proprietary programs etc.)
  • Experience in industrial projects including refinery/chemicals/renewable energy
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the project team.
  • Ability to work independently prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Process Engineering experience in a multi-discipline environment in the refining or chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in Process Design and Troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of industry codes and good engineering practices.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Climbing (stairs/ladders) and field visits are required.
  • Exposure to outdoors
  • Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes hardhat safety glasses respirators ear plugs steel toed shoes or other equipment as required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
