Job Description

Provide safe and effective ground transport for neonatal and pediatric patients requiring critical care. As a vital member of the pediatric transport team youll participate in all aspects of patient care during assessment treatment packaging and transfer. Operate and maintain MUSCs specialized dual-mission Freightliner ambulance capable of transporting two patient types and accommodating up to eight providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely drive and maintain the pediatric critical care ambulance.

  • Assist flight crew in minimizing lift time by efficiently loading and unloading equipment.

  • Ensure safe ground transport of the team and equipment following patient hand-off.

  • Maintain cleanliness readiness and functionality of all vehicle equipment and supplies.

  • Participate in community outreach and educational programs hosted by MUSC.

  • Uphold MUSCs standards of professionalism teamwork and patient-centered care.

  • Complete all mandatory certifications and ongoing training as directed by the Transport Manager and Medical Director.

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in the state of South Carolina.

  • NREMT certification required.

  • Valid drivers license required.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or equivalent (e.g. ARC CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider).

Preferred:

  • At least 1 year of EMT experience (preferred but not required).
