The University of Nevada Las Vegas invites applications for *REVISED*Business Coordinator UNLV Gaming Regulation International Gaming (FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE)R0147906

ROLE of the POSITION

The Business Coordinator will provide a high-level of professional administrative and managerial support for the International Center for Gaming Regulation (ICGR or the Center). Reporting directly to the Centers Business Manager the Business Coordinator will manage and execute a multitude of high-level tasks/projects/initiatives to meet the Centers vision mission and overall needs on a daily basis. The Business Coordinator will work alongside ICGR staff members UNLV faculty and staff as well as other departments/colleges as needed to perform the duties required of the position. This is a highly visible position which will be required to interact with community stakeholders as well as Hotel and Gaming VIPS on highly confidential materials on a frequent basis while keeping an up-to-the-minute database of those tasks. The Business Coordinator must be able to coordinate and manage multiple high-priority concurrent tasks managed by the Center in an organized efficient confidential and timely manner including tasks required at a moments notice. Tasks include but are not limited to managing the Centers Executive Directors calendar; managing and directing hosted events; PCard reconciliations and receipt filing; managing vendor pre- and post-program payment details from vendor registration to final invoice payment; coordination and communication regarding ever-changing UNLV/NSHE/State finance/HR/travel policies as well as other finance HR admin duties as outlined in the PDQ. The Business Coordinator will utilize independent judgment toward the administrative functions of the Center to ensure department activities (programs events travel etc) are properly tracked expended and managed. Failure to perform the above duties and functions within required timelines could result in costly payment delays negatively impacting the Centers soft/state/gift expenditures productivity and overall image of the Center. Mismanagement of administrative and financial duties could result in the loss of funding from donors sponsors and/or the State. Improper creation and implementation of ICGR Division and University policies and procedures could result in a number of issues including loss of trust and poor internal employee relations.

Overall the Business Coordinator must be able to think and act as quickly as the dynamics of the department division and University change frequently as well as possess a positive resilient attitude and outlook while being comfortable working in a small team environment. Experience in a University setting is a plus but not a requirement. Position requirements include fluency in common business operating software including Word suite Google suite and Adobe while being proficient and accurate in computer technology including OIS operating systems (Apple).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires aBachelors Degreefrom an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and3-5 years of related professional experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.

Knowledge

  • Knowledgeable and efficient in common software operating systems including Microsoft suite (Gmail GDrive Google Calendar etc.) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of budget preparation and tracking.
  • Have or obtain a working knowledge of University and State business policies procedures and regulations including but not limited to State Administrative Manual Board of Regents Code and Nevada Administrative Code.

Skills

  • Skilled in administrative tasks including digital file keeping calendar management coordination with external vendors and guest speakers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent and competing priorities.
  • Excellent writing communication interpersonal and organization skills with colleagues as well as internal/external Clients and Business partners.
  • Skilled in the area of program and time management with ability to track and follow-up on tasks with the team.
  • Commitment to teamwork and customer service.

Abilities

  • Ability to work collaboratively think creatively synthesize ideas and provide leadership.
  • Ability to interpret apply explain and enforce ICGR IGI VPR EVP&P UNLV etc. department policies and procedures.

  • Ability to exercise discretionary judgment as well as excellent skills in tracking managing and expending against budget.
  • Ability to effectively engage with diverse groups and individuals.

  • Ability to work with confidential information in a sensitive and timely manner.
  • Ability to articulate complex information as it relates to workload projects client issues etc.
  • Ability to learn new protocols/policies/software as needed and communicate any new updates with the team.
