Job Description: Backend Developer
Location: Groningen Netherlands (Hybrid: 1-3 days/week in-office) or Remote
Employment Type: Full-time (Direct employment with CropX)
About the Role:
Join our team as a Backend Developer to architect and develop core API services and data processing components that support our biodiversity and environmental stewardship platform. Your work will enable Dutch farmers to manage and optimize sustainable practices through scalable and reliable backend systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design implement and optimize backend services using Python Django and PostgreSQL.
- Ensure high performance scalability and security of backend components.
- Collaborate closely with frontend developers and data scientists to deliver integrated solutions.
- Write unit and integration tests document APIs and participate in code reviews.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of architecture and tools.
Requirements:
- 3 years of professional Python and Django experience.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL database systems.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and containerization.
- Capable of designing scalable backend systems.
- Fluent in Dutch; English proficiency is advantageous.
Nice to Have:
- Frontend exposure with React or other frameworks.
- Familiarity with environmental data integration.
