Job Description

Position: Paralegal - Expungement
Location: Indianapolis IN 46204
Client: State of Indiana
Duration: 12 Months

Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal to join the Expungement Section. The ideal candidate will assist with handling expungement inquiries and documentation while ensuring compliance with legal protocols. Responsibilities include reviewing court-ordered expungements conducting factual research and liaising with various departments and agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer phone inquiries providing guidance without establishing an attorney-client relationship.
  • Review and correlate court-ordered expungements with criminal data in the Criminal History Records Information System (CHRIS).
  • Conduct research and prepare necessary documents for expungement processes.
  • Organize and coordinate document productions with internal and external parties.
  • Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive information.

Required Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Paralegal certification or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Experience with confidential information (preferred).
