Mainframe Developer (Cobol)
Location: Guadalajara Mexico (On-Site)
6months contract
About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled Mainframe Developer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with COBOL and associated mainframe technologies to support maintain and develop business-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop maintain and enhance applications using COBOL 6. (MUST)
- Work with RDAM and VSAM databases to ensure efficient data handling and processing.
- Manage and process file storage types primarily DASD.
- Handle CICS (Customer Information Control System) for transaction management.
- Utilize ISPF/TSO environments for day-to-day development tasks.
- Write and troubleshoot JCL (Job Control Language) scripts for batch processing.
- Use ISPW for mainframe source code management and version control.
- Develop reports and perform data analysis using EASYTRIEVE.
- Utilize ZWEASY for additional programming and processing tasks.
- Work with ESP Scheduler and Control-M Scheduler for job scheduling and automation.
Requirements
Nice to Have:
- Knowledge of Unix and Linux environments is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in Mainframe development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
