Qualifications Education: Bachelors Degree/ Masters Degree in life science related fields with 1-2 years of lab experience in academic or industry(preferred). Essential Skills Biochemical Assays: Possesses a foundational understanding of biochemical assay workflows including tissue homogenization techniques. Highly detail-oriented and demonstrates the ability to quickly learn and execute new protocols. Maintains accurate and precise records using electronic lab notebooks (e.g. Signals) and adapts readily to evolving experimental needs. Lab Safety & Cleanliness: Follows established biosafety protocols and decontamination procedures for shared lab equipment. Ability and willingness to work with BSL-2 derived human or rodent material. Maintains a clean and safe working environment and ensures shared equipment is properly maintained and repaired as needed. GLP Compliance: Adheres strictly to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards ensuring accurate documentation traceability and preservation of sample integrity. Communication & Collaboration: Proficient in Microsoft Office for data handling and team communication. Collaborates effectively with scientists to meet experimental timelines and assay requirements. Work Commitment: This is an in-person on-site role with an expectation of approximately 80% in-lab work. Desired Skills Tissue Processing: Skilled in tissue homogenization using manual (e.g. cryopulverization Dounce) and mechanical (e.g. Qiagen TissueLyser Diagenode Bioruptor sonication) methods. Familiar with detergent-based extraction techniques (e.g. RIPA Triton X-100 Sarkosyl guanidine hydrochloride). Sample Handling: Capable of accurately labeling and processing large volumes of BSL-2 level samples. Demonstrates precision in manual pipetting and transferring of homogenates/biofluids with experience or willingness to work with human and rodent-derived materials. Protein Quantification: Familiar with or able to quickly learn BCA protein assays including the Pierce Dilution-Free Rapid Gold BCA method. Uses instruments such as the Tecan Spark for data capture and GraphPad Prism for analysis. Prepares samples for downstream analysis and communicates effectively to meet program deliverables. Equipment Operation: Experienced with or has the aptitude to learn operation of lab equipment such as homogenizers sonicators ultracentrifuges and the Tecan Spark. Note: 100% lababsed role.
