Job Summary:
The Secretary of States Information Services department requires a Digital Content Accessibility Specialist (Tester 3) to evaluate browser-based applications for compliance with WCAG 2.1 and Section 508 standards aligning with Maines Digital Accessibility Policy. The specialist will assess two applications in development propose solutions and generate accessibility compliance reports.
Location: Augusta Maine United States
Responsibilities:
- Perform accessibility testing on browser-based web applications.
- Document findings and provide digital presentations of accessibility issues.
- Anticipate identify track and resolve issues and risks affecting the work of the Test and Application Teams.
- Develop contingency plans as necessary.
- Research problems and provide guidance as needed.
- Develop an understanding of system business requirements supported by the Test team.
- Participate in assembly or product test execution as required.
- Schedule the design of structured walk-throughs or inspections; resolve issues.
- Stay aware of new developments in industry and processes and apply them to work as appropriate.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- 4 years of experience and knowledge with accessibility testing browser-based web applications.
- Demonstrated success with documenting findings and providing digital presentations of issues.
