JOB OVERVIEW
Job Title: OB/Gyn Laborist
Job Type: Permanent Full-Time
Location: Munster IN
Service Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient
Schedule: 144 hours of service per month (1728 hours annually)
On-Call Expectations: Phone availability required
Start Date: Approximately 90 120 days post-offer pending credentialing
PATIENT POPULATION & SCOPE
Patient Demographics: Obstetric and gynecologic patients
Admissions & Rounding: Included
Consults & Follow-Ups: Yes
Case Mix/Clinical Focus Areas: Labor and Delivery OB/Gyn procedures
FACILITY & TEAM DETAILS
EMR System: Epic HIMSS Stage VII
Specialty Backup: Nurse practitioner support in both inpatient and outpatient settings
Support Staff: Collegial team of system physicians
Leadership & Reporting Structure: Hospital-employed physician model
Reason for Opening: Growth and expansion of women s health services
CREDENTIALING & COMPLIANCE
Board Requirements: BC/BE in Obstetrics & Gynecology
DEA & Certifications: DEA CSR required
Credentialing Timeline: 90 120 days

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Board Status: BC/BE in Obstetrics & Gynecology
State License Required: Eligibility for Indiana medical license
Certifications: DEA CSR
Experience: Previous OB/Gyn or laborist experience preferred
Additional Requirements: EPIC proficiency interest in collaborative patient-centered care
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide obstetric and gynecologic care within an inpatient setting
Deliver and manage laboring patients and obstetric emergencies
Support gynecologic surgical procedures and consults
Collaborate with advanced practitioners and nursing staff
Document care accurately using EPIC EMR system
