Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for three companies within one integrated system
Properly categorize all business expenses and transactions in compliance with Canadian tax regulations
Calculate and allocate asset depreciation (e.g. equipment machinery) according to Canadian tax requirements
Prepare comprehensive financial records for external accountants
Process and categorize scanned receipts and financial documents
Perform account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy
Record all financial transactions using Sage accounting software
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Handle invoicing and basic payroll duties as needed
Proven experience with Canadian tax systems and regulations
Proficiency in Sage accounting software (preferred over QuickBooks)
Strong understanding of asset depreciation and tax categorization specific to Canada
Experience managing bookkeeping for multiple companies within integrated systems
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping
Experience preparing books for external accountant review
Comfortable working with digital document processing and scanning systems
