The Lake Maloney Elementary School Secretary provides clerical organizational and administrative support to the principal staff students and families. This role helps ensure the smooth daily operation of the school office by managing communications maintaining records and assisting with school-related activities.
Serve as the first point of contact for visitors parents students and staff providing information and assistance in a professional and friendly manner.
Answer and direct phone calls take messages and respond to inquiries.
Maintain student attendance records and report daily absences/tardies.
Manage and update student files cumulative records and enrollment/withdrawal documentation.
Prepare and distribute newsletters memos and other school communications.
Schedule appointments and maintain the principals calendar.
Order receive and organize office and classroom supplies; track inventory.
Assist in preparing reports forms and documents required by the district or state.
Support teachers and staff by preparing materials maintaining workroom supplies and helping coordinate events.
Handle incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
Assist in maintaining a safe and welcoming school environment by monitoring visitor sign-in/out procedures.
Perform basic bookkeeping tasks such as processing purchase orders and maintaining petty cash (if applicable).
Provide support during emergencies drills or special situations.
Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
