Faculty / Part-Time - one weekdaySt. Stephens Armenian Elementary School is seeking a Physical Education Instructor. The St. Stephens Armenian Elementary School located in Watertown Mass is a child-centered American-Armenian Institution committed to academic excellence. The school is accredited by the Association of Independent Schools in New England (AISNE). Responsibilities-Design plan and implement student-centered lessons that demonstrate a deep understanding of the academic discipline curriculum instruction child development and best practices aligned with the goals and mission of SSAES.-Establish and implement expectations for student safety and conduct; and procedures and routines consistent with School policies.-Assess student performance and engagement including academics behavior and social-emotional needs while communicating directly with students colleagues and families both formally and informally when necessary.-Oversee and serve as the primary contact between home and school as an advisor to a small group of students.-Collaborate with all SSAES employees as appropriate.-Participate in and contribute to an adult learning community by engaging in meetings discussions committees task forces and professional development.-Complete administrative tasks and coverage duties as assigned (student supervision attendance reporting documenting curriculum report card grades etc.)-Utilize feedback and reflection to improve practice and performance.-Ensure that respect for diversity equity inclusion and belong social-emotional learning and academic excellence are emphasized as core values of the School-Participate in school community activities.-Meet expectations as defined by the SSAES Employee :-Masters Degree required in Physical Education preferred.-Strong interpersonal skills with students colleagues and other adults. -Strong communication skills including experience in writing student comments and other school-related documents.-High integrity professionalism and confidentiality.-Demonstrated commitment to diversity equity inclusion and belonging in teaching and learning & experience in working in a culturally diverse community. -Demonstrated interest in ongoing professional development and innovative practices that support student growth.-Ability to think independently and collaborate in a team environment.-Skill in differentiating instruction. -Maintain focus and adaptability in an energetic and at times loud environment.-Effectively interpret navigate mediate and resolve conflict with students and families in a timely manner. -Proficient or the ability to learn Google tools and other applications as adopted by the School such as RenWeb or Requirements: - The ability to sit and stand uninterrupted for 45 minute periods of time.- The ability to regularly walk on and travel across variable surfaces (e.g. level flooring stairs turf gravel asphalt etc.).- The ability to lead supervise and accompany students to all areas of the school campus (including all indoor and outdoor areas) including during day-to-day responsibilities and in case of emergency. - The ability to regularly stand sit crouch and kneel down in order to support students. - The ability to maintain focus and composure in an energetic and at times loud environment.
