Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in nursing and 2 years clinical experience in behavioral health OR Associates degree in nursing and 3 years experience in behavioral health. Strong leadership and communication skills.
Responsibilities: Responsible for the development of the treatment and discharge plan for nursing. They must have the ability to make difficult nursing decisions for a client population with serious and persistent mental illness. Additionally decisions also involve staffing safety security and infection control issues. The nurse must have an understanding of the population served and be able to problem-solve and educate employees in all nursing areas. Work is reviewed by the Director of Nursing through meetings with the charge nurses and Nurse Managers evaluation of intervention decisions and compliance with state and federal rules regulations and agency policies and procedures. Provides adequate supervision to staff. Make rounds to the different units. Ensures that effective patient care is being provided and that quality standards are met. Ensure that clear and concise nursing records are maintained in accordance with policies and procedures. Assist with audits. Ensures that the day-to-day checks/reports are completed and infection control issues are referred to the infection control supervisor as needed. Be organized creative and flexible. Communicates with the Director of Nursing regarding any programmatic changes and/or problems that present themselves.
