Job Description

Macon R-1 School District isseeking a MS/HS JAG (Jobs for Americas Graduates) Teacherfor the 2025-2026 school year.

Extra Duty positions may be available when filling secondary positions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate
  • Ability to teach DUAL CREDIT English and Public Speaking preferred
  • Positive interpersonal relationship skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of digital resources tools and instructional applications

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Provides instruction to students using effective instructional strategies.
  2. Participates in curriculum review and design.
  3. Creates and implements a classroom disciplinary plan.
  4. Creates lesson plans and activities to implement and supplement instruction.
  5. Monitors student progress and adjusts instruction accordingly.
  6. Participates in building grade level and/or subject area committees.
  7. Participates in professional development activities.
  8. Maintains accurate student records including attendance grades and discipline.
  9. Completes and submits forms and required reports in a timely manner.
  10. Communicates regularly with parents regarding progress and other educational concerns.
  11. Reports suspected abuse neglect discrimination and harassments as directed by Board policy.
  12. Prepares lesson plans for use by a substitute teacher.
  13. Attends established traditional school-sponsored events (e.g. Back-to-School Night Open House student programs activities and faculty meetings).
  14. Assumes other duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment:

Nine month contract. Salary and work year to be established by the Superintendent.
