Job Description

Job Title: Director of Student Services Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Reports to: Assistant Superintendent Pay Grade: Prof 7 ($102238 - $138321)

(Commensurate with Years of Experience)

Dept./School: Curriculum & Instruction Date Revised: 05/10/2021

Report Date: July 17 2025 Days to Work: 226/12 Months

Primary Purpose:

Plan develop direct monitor and maintain the day-to-day operational functions of the K-12 student

services. Provide oversight and guidance to di strict-wide student services programs that span multiple

campuses.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Masters degree in educational administration

Administrative or Mid-Management Certification

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of student/support services

Technical knowledge of school operations Knowledge of emergency management

Ability to implement policy and procedures

Ability to analyze and interpret data

Strong communication public relations and interpersonal skills

Experience:

Five years successful administrative experience at campus level

Successful experience as district level administrator preferred

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

Major Responsibilities and Duties

Responsible for the district-wide student discipline management program

Student/parent grievance hearing officer

Consult and advise administrators on student attendance and discipline issues

Responsible for student verification information and residency

Student Crisis Intervention Team Administrator

Oversee the General Education Behavior Specialist Counselors and Nurses

Liaison for the District Positive Behavior Interventions and supports program (PBIS)

Coordinate communication and mediation processes for student/parent complaints grievances and concerns.

Ensure that the District Student Handbook Student Code of Conduct and Campus Handbooks are created updated annually and distributed.

Maintain a leadership role with staff parents and community

Migrant Student Liaison

Homeless Student Liaison

District Student Advisory Council Administrator

Parent Involvement and Community Programs Coordinator

Policy Reports and Laws

Implement federal and state law State Board of Education rule and board policy

Compile maintain file and present all physical and computerized reports records and other documents required

Implement district s student discipline policies and communicate to students expected behavior.

Enforce safety standards that conform to state and federal regulations and develop a program of preventive safety.

Other

Attend board meetings regularly and make presentations to the board.

Participate in professional development activities to maintain current knowledge of student services policies regulations and practices.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervise and evaluate the performance of appropriate staff

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent districtwide and statewide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours
