  • Suffolk County Council Endeavour House Ipswich IP1 2BX - Hybrid
  • 33366 per annum (pro rata for part time)
  • Post 1: 37 hours per week - Flexible working options available
  • Post 2: 18.5 hours per week - Flexible working options available

The Norfolk and Suffolk Skills Bootcamps programme is a dynamic initiative funded by the Department for Education as part of the Governments Lifetime Skills Guarantee. Designed to address regional skills gaps and recruitment challenges the programme offers flexible employer-led training across priority sectors such as construction digital engineering early years and health and social care. This year our funding will enable us to support over 1400 learners across the region helping learners develop their careers and supporting businesses enhance productivity.

Your role and responsibilities

Working within the Skills Bootcamp team you will

  • broker key initial links with employers who require training
  • lead contract management activity and meetings of a portfolio of Skills Bootcamp providers maintaining close oversight and record information from delivery providers to identify and assess any emerging risks
  • actively track progress standards of delivery and data submissions in accordance with KPIs
  • present to senior leaders and government officials in skills forums and grant management meetings.

You will need

A strong understanding of the skills and employment landscape in Norfolk and Suffolk along with experience in brokering partnerships between employers and training providers. Youll need excellent communication and presentation skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels from local businesses to government officials. Confidence in contract management data tracking and risk assessment is essential as is the ability to work independently and collaboratively. A proactive flexible approach and a passion for improving learner outcomes and supporting economic growth will help you thrive in this role

This role sits within the Skills and Employment team a group dedicated to driving economic growth across Norfolk and Suffolk by developing a strong pipeline of talent for our local economy. Our purpose is to empower individuals through skills development helping them unlock opportunities and contribute meaningfully to their communities. What motivates us is seeing the real-world impact of our workwhether thats someone securing their first job or retraining for a new career.

We are entering the fourth year of delivering Skills Bootcamps in our region. The success of the programme has seen our learner numbers and the business we work with grow exponentially and we are excited to see how the next phase develops.
