Job Description

School-Based Instructional Leadership Team (ILT)

Description: The school-based ILTs primary focus is on student learning and achievement and coordinating the improvement of instruction in the school based on data. The team members serve in an advisory capacity to the principal supporting the development and implementation of the School Improvement Plan (SIP). For the K-8 and K-5 schools the ILT includes one member per grade level to serve as a liaison between the ILT and their respective grade level team members. For EHS the members include educators from all departments who serve as liaisons between the ILT and their respective department team members.

Qualifications:

  • Current EPS Educator Instructional Coach
  • Able to attend one in-person meeting per month

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting school-wide data including MCAS IXL i-Ready DIBELS etc.

Essential Duties:

  • Keep the focus of all work on improving student achievement in alignment with the MA Frameworks in ELA and Math.
  • Facilitate the self-assessment process and develop the schools Improvement Plan based on findings from a self-assessment and the districts overall plan.
  • Throughout the year track the schools progress toward meeting the School Improvement Plan goals and implementing the action steps.
  • Help instructional teams and grade levels use student performance data to inform instructional decisions.
  • Ensure that the school community reaches consensus on changes in instruction and assessment and that the voices of various stakeholders are included in the decision-making process.
  • Communicate its work and decisions to faculty staff and families
  • Foster a culture of continuous and collaborative reflection learning and improvement.

Working Time/Modality:

  • In-person ILT meetings once a month between 3:00 - 4:30 pm from September to June.

Compensation: $800 (20 total hours at $40/hour)

Number of Positions:

  • 10 per K-8 building
  • 7 at the Webster
  • 7 at the Devens
  • 4 at the Adams
  • 5 at the Webster Extension
  • 16 at Everett High School
