You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailOur client a growing company based in Wayne is looking for an Electrical Engineer to help test and launch new products!
The Engineer will set up QA processes and standards and help develop an appropriate testing lab for new products.
The Engineer will also provide on-going consulting support as new product lines are developed.
Key Responsibilities
*Power Testing: Develop and execute power testing protocols for appliances operating at 110V to 250V and up to 50 amps measuring power consumption efficiency and electrical performance under various conditions.
*Test Design: Develop test procedures using equipment such as power analyzers oscilloscopes and multimeters to evaluate appliance performance with a focus on high-current and variable-voltage scenarios.
*Compliance and Standards: Ensure testing meets industry standards (e.g. UL IEC CSA) and regulatory requirements for appliances within the specified voltage and current range.
*Data Analysis: Analyze test data to identify performance trends inefficiencies or anomalies providing insights to enhance appliance design.
*Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues including voltage instability current overloads harmonic distortion and load imbalances.
*Documentation: Prepare detailed test reports technical documentation and presentations summarizing findings for internal teams and regulatory bodies.
*Collaboration: Partner with product design manufacturing and quality assurance teams to integrate test results into the product development process.
*Safety Protocols: Adhere to and enforce strict safety protocols when working with high-voltage and high-current equipment.
Qualifications
*Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
oMinimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on power testing for appliances operating at 110V to 250V and up to 50 amps.
oExpertise in power quality analysis and energy efficiency evaluations for high-current systems.
*Technical Skills:
oProficiency with testing equipment including power analyzers oscilloscopes and data acquisition systems capable of handling up to 50 amps.
oStrong knowledge of electrical circuit design and analysis for variable-voltage and high-current applications.
oFamiliarity with standards (e.g. UL 60335 IEC 60335) and regulations for appliances in the 110-250V range.
*Soft Skills:
oStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.
oHigh attention to detail and accuracy in test execution and reporting.
oPractical communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and presenting technical findings.
Preferred Qualifications
*Experience with automated testing systems and software for power analysis (e.g. LabVIEW MATLAB).
*Knowledge of energy efficiency standards such as ENERGY STAR for appliances in the specified voltage and current range.
*Familiarity with testing high-current appliances such as electric heaters air conditioners or industrial kitchen equipment.
