About the role

Reporting to the Director Lived Experience you will be responsible for designing and delivering activities and projects that enable lived experience to be embedded across the organisation. You will facilitate participatory design consumer and community engagement co-production activities to ensure projects represent the voices of the people we serve. You will also work in partnership with key internal stakeholders to develop fit for purpose implementation plans to bring the Lived Experience Strategy to life in their respective portfolios.

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to build a workplace culture grounded in equity representation and continuous improvement.

We welcome and encourage applications from people with lived experience of the issues we support including disability mental health child and youth services aged care alcohol and other drugs and homelessness. We recognise the unique insights that lived experience brings and value the contribution it makes to more inclusive effective and person-centred services.

This is a maximum 9 month contract part time 3 days per week. The role offers flexibility to work from your preferred location whether from home or one of our local LWB offices. While the majority of the work can be completed remotely occasional attendance at the office may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Successfully manage the development planning execution and delivery of nominated Lived Experience focused projects utilising project management systems tools and change management frameworks
  • Apply best-practice change and implementation approaches to enable successful and sustainable project outcomes
  • Lead and design engagement participatory design and co-production activities involving internal and external stakeholders to influence project direction and outcomes
  • Support the embedding of the Lived Experience Strategy
  • Successfully design and manage the overall delivery and implementation of these projects through active leadership and participation in broader program initiatives
  • Provide change management support and capability uplift as required
  • Proactively identify and flag risks and enablers throughout project lifespan and be responsive to these

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences HR or a related field.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to lead change initiatives including evidence-based implementation practices and the successful adoption and integration of change.
  • Experience in participatory design co- production and stakeholder engagement with a proven ability to lead and design these activities in collaboration with stakeholders to influence project direction and deliver positive outcomes.
  • Strong data analysis reporting and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to apply best practice change and implementation approaches when consulting and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lived experience from a marginalised community (desirable but not essential).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with digital DEI tools/platforms.
