Job Description

POSITION:Director of Curriculum Instruction and Professional DevelopmentThe Director of Curriculum Instruction and Professional Development under the supervision of the Superintendent and in accordance with appropriate statutes regulations and Committee policy is responsible for providing leadership in the ongoing development and improvement of the overall instructional program of the TYPE:Full-time positionSALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experienceJOB GOAL:To provide instructional leadership by directing the development of curriculum the implementation of instructional strategies and coordination of professional development programs to ensure the continuity of curriculum and effectiveness of instruction and Instruction: organizes and directs the program for instruction and curriculum of the District in coordination with principals directors department/subject area coordinators school councils and district-wide strategic and long-range planning for the systematic renewal of the curriculum and the improvement of the development dissemination implementation and evaluation of curriculum and instructional a systematic process and procedures for ensuring horizontal and vertical coordination of the abreast of research and developments in curriculum and instruction and promotes collaboration and active participation with educational leaders at regional state and national procedures for the selection adoption and evaluation of instructional materials supplies and policies governing curriculum and instruction and recommends modifications or establishment of appropriate new policies for review by the Superintendent and adoption by the the implementation and analysis of Federal and State mandated standardized testing programs and accountability testing data analysis/reportsProfessional Development: the design and delivery of a comprehensive program of professional development in coordination with principals directors and curriculum/subject area coordinators school councils and district-wide administers and evaluates a comprehensive professional development program that promotes the educational goals and objectives of the the annual district-wide staff development PD certificates for in-district staff development projects for recertificationPersonnel: coordination between building-level and district-wide in the recruitment hiring training and assigning of instructional District compliance with licensure statutes and principals and school councils in the preparation and implementation of annual goals and school improvement and evaluates district-wide coordinators in terms of curriculum development professional development and the Superintendent in the development and implementation of more effective tools for supervision and staff the development and management of grants relating to curriculum instruction and principals in the areas of curriculum instruction assessment and professional a network of communication with members of the Central Office staff principals coordinators and district-wide the activities of stake-holding Coordinate Program Review Process with the Director of Student and reviewing lateral movement projects with interested educators as per guidelines in the SBREA Administrative Responsibilities: in the planning development and coordination of sections of the budget that pertain to curriculum instructional programs and professional School Committee and approves Home Schooling Districts use of student and personnel information management liaison with selected civic professional and volunteer community groups and other professional duties as assigned by the Rights and personnel REQUIREMENT:MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education LicensureAssistant Superintendent/Superintendent OR Supervisor/Director PreferredSTART DATE:TBDAPPLICATION:Apply via School Spring attention of Beth Regulbuto Superintendent SBRSD 491 Berkshire School Road Sheffield MA 01257POSTING DATE:July 14 2025APPLICATION DEADLINE: Position open until Southern Berkshire Regional School District Does Not Discriminate on the Basis of Race Color Age Creed National Origin Disability Sex Gender Identity Religion Limited English Proficiency Housing Status Actual or Potential Marital Status or Parental Status or Sexual Orientation.
