Product Engineering and Bill of Material Support

Responsibilities:

Position Summary

The Product Engineering and Bill of Material Support role is central to ensuring the accuracy efficiency and traceability of production processes within the furniture sector. This position supports the engineering and manufacturing teams by managing Bills of Materials (BoMs) contributing to ERP implementation and providing technical and cost analysis for both standard and custom products. The role requires a proactive detail-oriented professional with strong cross-functional collaboration skills and a solid understanding of production flows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Map and analyze production processes to ensure alignment with BoMs applying manufacturing experience to identify discrepancies and propose improvements.
  • Support ERP system implementation by collaborating with Planning Purchasing and other departments to document and optimize production workflows.
  • Manage BoMs for both standard and custom products ensuring accuracy and enabling independent quoting for special items.
  • Provide technical input and propose solutions that are aligned with the needs of other departments fostering a collaborative and solution-oriented environment.
  • Collaborate with KNA (Knoll North America) colleagues offering detailed cost analysis for EU-manufactured products destined for the U.S. market.
  • Assist Customer Service in quoting custom products and defining efficient working methods to streamline operations and improve service quality.

Skill and competences required:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Design or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience in managing Bills of Materials and supporting production engineering in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and production planning tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform cost analysis and interpret technical data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Proactive and detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • A good knowledge of English both written and spoken is a plus.
