The Near North Montessori (NNM) School Extended Day Faculty (part-time position) works with the after school teams along other staff members to provide a caring warm and fun environment for students after the school day ends. Hours of this program are Monday Friday 2:30pm to 6:00 pm during the regular school year and additional work may be available over the summer season.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provide care for and lead/participate in activities for students enrolled in the after school program
- Work collaboratively with after school staff to plan fun developmentally appropriate activities within the after school environments (both indoor and outdoor)
- Assist with organization and preparation of the afterschool rooms and other spaces used on a daily and weekly basis
- Assist students with transitions in and out of after school this includes other school activities snack carpool/pickup and more; ensuring safety at all times and following established school protocols for child pick up and drop off
- Clean the assigned after school room and provide input into ideas for new material and room arrangement
- Update records and paperwork as directed by the supervisor
- Acquire professional training in the educational field by attending educational conferences training workshops and other related activities
- Be flexible open and responsive to changes in assignments being available for on-call shifts as child care assignments are added based upon the changing needs of the Programs department
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required assigned or requested
Qualifications :
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbal and written with children and adults
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbal and written with children and adults
- Advanced understanding of a childs physical social emotional and cognitive development
- Demonstrated ability to follow directions and complete tasks in an effective manner
- Ability to work in a fast-paced high-energy setting
- Ability to organize and participate in age-appropriate enrichment activities
- Ability to work well with people
- Proficiency in the use of Google Docs
- Bachelors degree preferred

- Full-time employment to start in August of 2025.
- Pay Information: The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00 an hour based on skills and experience.
