Job Description
AECOMs Is seeking a talented and driven Medior Data Scientist IIII to join our AI team. This role focuses on developing and deploying advanced solutions in Natural Language Processing (NLP) Computer Vision and Deep Learning with applications in video recognition but also time-series analysis. You will work with cutting-edge technologies and cloud platforms to build scalable intelligent systems.
This position offers a hybrid work schedule including both remote and office work arrangements from our office in Bucharest RO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design implement and optimize ML models using Python and deep learning frameworks.
- Develop and fine-tune LLMs and advanced NLP algorithms for various language understanding tasks.
- Build and deploy video recognition and computer vision models using state-of-the-art techniques.
- Apply time-series algorithms for forecasting anomaly detection and pattern recognition.
- Optimize model performance and scalability for production environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into products and services.
- Leverage cloud platforms (Azure GCP AWS) for model training deployment and monitoring.

Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree and 5 years of experience in data science machine learning and/or AI roles.
- Strong proficiency in Python and ML/DL libraries such as PyTorch TF scikit-learn and Hugging Face Transformers.
- Solid understanding of computer vision and video processing (e.g. OpenCV MediaPipe YOLO or similar).
- Experience with deep learning model optimization and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with time-series modeling techniques (e.g. ARIMA LSTM Prophet).
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (Azure GCP AWS) and ML Ops tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on experience with advanced NLP techniques including:
- Named Entity Recognition (NER)
- Text classification and sentiment analysis
- Topic modeling (e.g. LDA BERTopic)
- Text summarization (extractive and abstractive)
- Question answering and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
- Embedding techniques (e.g. Word2Vec BERT Sentence Transformers)
- Prompt engineering and fine-tuning of LLMs
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with pipeline and database optimization for large-scale data processing.
- Knowledge of multimodal learning or video-language models.
- Contributions to open-source projects or relevant research publications.
- Experience with real-time video analytics or edge AI deployment.
