The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Lecturer in Japanese Studies to contribute to teaching research and community engagement within our Japanese Studies program. In this role you will conduct field-leading research publish and secure research funding in Japanese Studies with expertise in areas such as linguistics history cultural studies or anthropology. Applicants with research spanning Japan and Korea are especially encouraged to apply.
You will coordinate teach and develop course material including Japanese as a second or heritage language and may contribute to the Korean Studies program. Additionally you will supervise HDR projects engage with external stakeholders and support the programs administrative functions.
As the successful candidate you will excel in collaborative and independent work with a strong publication record in top-tier journals and experience securing research funding. You will have a proven ability to supervise postgraduate students and contribute to high-quality research. With extensive experience teaching Japanese as a second or heritage language at the tertiary level you will ideally also have expertise in Korean Studies. Strong proficiency in Japanese and English is desirable along with a passion for research teaching and engaging students in a dynamic learning environment.
